Why This Country Is Broke

Informative, and mind boggling!

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this:

Boy, was I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.

I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I also have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

New Coin

So our government has issued it's first piece of money that doesn't have the phrase 'In God We Trust' on it. A coin worth $1. Now I'm not overly religious . . .one of these days we'll get to that blog, but I whole-heartily feel that this coin should be destroyed . . .

Our money since we established a system of currency has had that simple phrase on it. It emphasises the beliefs that this country were built on and it is a part of our history. Removing it is just the same as removing "Under God" from the pledge of allegiance. It's retarded and unnecessary.

Yes we were founded for religious freedom, but such traditions are not impending on said freedoms. If you agree with this, simple refuse to accept these coins, hopefully forcing them out of circulation. Or hell, I have a better idea . . . lets collect em, melt em down and make a statue of the bible out of it . . .

Bailout?

So the government just approved a $700 billion dollar bailout for AIG. Really? So, now it's a law that if our country's large financial companies get into trouble, we have to pay to bail them out? What about us?!?!? Why not invest that $700 billion in the people? Into the lower and middle classes that this country keeps taking from?

They've robbed our schools of money, depriving our children of the basic essentials needed for a better education. We have teachers who are simply there for the paycheck. Those who couldn't care less whether or not a single student walked out of their classroom any smarter or wiser. Why not invest a little of that money into incentives for our school. Why not offer part of that $700 billion to schools who increase stanardized test scores or to the schools with the highest percentage of seniors who are enrolled in college the next year? How about setting up scholarship and grant funds for students?

What about all the people who have lost their jobs because the government is offering tax breaks to companies that ship work to other countries? All of those people are losing everything they had worked for and now the government won't help them. Our government is taking from it's own citizens and giving to other countries.

MY OPINION: This bailout will lead directly to this country's next "Great Depression". Our government is far too concerned with the wrong things. To really get this country's economy back where it should be, our government should give to the people. Create jobs here instead of taking them from us. Divide that $700 billion between the taxpayers who have acumulated debt in order to better themselves and their lives. Such debt would include school loans (ones that were used to actually earn a degree that they have put into use in their lives), car loans (on realistic cars not toys), mortgages (hey, wouldn't that in turn bailout AIG?!?!), and the deadbeat dads who owe on back child support. Don't send the check to the people. Send that money where it truly needs to go. Send a letter to the people stating the amount of debt relief that they will recieve. (example, Dear Sue Smith, After reviewing your credit and seeing that you have debt with American General for you car, Sally Mae for your associates degree in business, that you use in you management position, and with Country Wide for the mortgage on you 3 bedroom home where you and your family reside, you will recieve $70, 000 or roughly half of your debt. This money will be sent directly to Sally Mae, Country Wide, and American General.)

Now at $70, 000 per person, that's 100,000 citizens that would be helped. Granted that's not much and that's not many people, but it's still a start and it's still helping both the companies and the people. There is a way to do this so that the people are not getting screwed over . . . I don't see why Our government isn't looking into that idea instead of simply helping the companies.

Introducing: The Girl

Much sets me apart from the "All-American" girl. At least the traditional vision of such a thing. I'm intelligent AND possess common sense (even if every once in a while the blond shines through). I'm independent, co-dependent, observant, oblivious, sassy, shy, out-spoken and surprisingly even tempered. I wasn't taught manners, yet I use them. I respect my elders, but only if they return the respect. While I understand a large vocabulary, the one I use on a day-to-day basis is small. As far as looks go, Hitler and I would get along well . . . I'm blue-eyed and have blond hair.

Last I checked, my anatomy defined me as female. However, the quirky people I call my friends would chuckle. Pink gives me a headache. Make-up annoys me. Tanning beds bore me. Shopping is a waste of my time. Cars excite me due to the hype, mystery and environment that they produce.

I'm a writer, a dreamer, a scholar, a damn hard-worker, a success and a failure. Music calms me. Family drives me (both forward in life and up the freaking wall). Life and love intrigue me and learning thrills me. I possess and open mind and a bleeding heart.

There are two things in this world that I would define as my kryponite: children and knowledge. Both are treasures. Both have the ability to create great change in many different ways. Both could make this the perfect world or completely destroy it.

Through this blog, my intent is to enlighten, to share my views on basically everything from something trivial such as puppies, to things that affect everyone's everyday life such as religion. If you stick with me, I will promise you just a few things:
1. My opinions are well thought out and very strong. They will be bluntly stated as I see them. I will never sugar-coat my words.
2. I am aware that my opinions my differ from your own. I'm not saying my way of thought is the only way to see it, simply my way. I do, after all, live in America and as far as I know we still have the right to think for ourselves. I would love to hear your views.
3. You'll learn at least on thing from me even if its simply a new way of looking at something.
4. I will make you laugh. Maybe not a gut-wrenching laugh from deep within you, but a chuckle here and there. I'm different, as is my way of thinking and presenting my thoughts.

So, stick around. Drop a line and feel free to let your mind wander and absorb what it can, that is after all what it's for.
